About Me

Messenger Web Design Logo

Messenger Web Design is Chris J. Zähller — I’ve been designing web sites or performing related work since 1999. I started as an amateur enthusiast & discovered that people liked what I do, so now they pay me to do it. I am an ardent supporter of Web Standards.

I take a Web Standards Approach to building sites, employing minimal browser hacks & ensuring my designs validate correctly to save costly future revisions. I am also a typography nut; many of my sites feature carefully chosen leading, kerning, & other type considerations to improve legibility & æsthetics.

I mainly build web sites, but I also love producing logos, posters, T-Shirts, business cards, technical drawings & diagrams, spot illustrations for web or print, architect’s conceptual drawings, & just about anything else graphic you might need.

Chris J. Zähller

I am self-taught, and proficient, in HTML & CSS. I’m improving my programming skills in Javascript & PHP as I find the time. I have also taken classes in computer networking & earned some networking certifications. I graduated from the University of Oklahoma with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1984, but have seldom used my background in the visual arts until I began this career. I’ve become pretty darned good with Adobe Photoshop & Illustrator. I even manage to impress myself, sometimes.

Howdy

I built my 1st website, all hand-coded, in 1999; I’ve built websites professionally since 2006. My graphic design experience has deep roots — I earned my BFA in 1984.

I love building websitesI love building websites — it’s a challenging, multi-disciplinary field that always surprises., and I take a methodical approach to design and implementation to assure you receive a high quality product. I follow a four phase process to ensure customer satisfaction and project efficiency:

  1. Discovery phase — during which I plan everything clearly
  2. Creative phase — in which all visual elements are designed & approved
  3. Technical phase — during which the visual elements are brought to life, and finally
  4. A review and testing phase
