Messenger Web Design is pleased to announce two new WordPress plugins: WP FOFT Loader & Five-Star Ratings Shortcode.
WP FOFT Loader implements and automates Zach Leatherman’s “Critical FOFT with preload, with a polyfill fallback emulating font-display: optional” to optimize and speed up web font loading and improve UX by minimizing Flash of Invisible Text, Flash of Unstyled Text, and DOM reflow.
In plain English, that means your custom web fonts will load faster with less “jank,” with less waiting for text to render, and with less text reflow when they do load. The free version supports 3 font weights and 2 styles (regular and italic). The PRO version adds 7 font weights and support for small-caps font variants, plus a slew of other convenient features.
WP FOFT Loader PRO only features:

The other plugin, Five-Star Ratings Shortcode, also comes in 2 flavors: the free version is a simple, lightweight, set-it-and-forget-it method to add accessible, attractive 5-star ratings anywhere on your site with a shortcode. The PRO version adds a settings screen to customize the display of the stars, and also extends the shortcode to output Google Rich Snippets in the post or page <head>.
